This November the "empowering people. Network" (epN) focuses completely on Mexico City where we organize a range of research and networking activities in the context of the Global Social Business Summit 2014 (GSBS) at the Tecnológica de Monterrey in Mexico City.

Our research project IRENE|SEE (International Research Network on Social Economic Empowerment) hosts two exciting panels on “Empowerment through Social Business” and “Social Business as Hybrid Organizations” during the GSBS Research Conference on Social Business on Nov. 25th from 3-4pm. #IRENESEE

Another “empowering people. Workshop” will bring together Network members from different regions. Social entrepreneurs, developers and academia will exchange knowledge and ideas on “impact measurement & reporting” and will also to learn from each others' experiences during Nov. 26th.  #epWorkshop

We also cordially invite you to join the panel From philanthropy to impact investing: Turning to investing in social business on Nov. 27th, 3pm where Nathalie von Siemens, Managing Director and Spokesperson of Siemens Stiftung will be amongst the panelists.

The discussion is joined by well- known researchers, entrepreneurs and philanthropists from around the globe and will start with the presentation of the results of the survey “Insights from an exploratory study on social enterprises and social investors in Colombia, Mexico, Kenya and South Africa” provided by the IRENE SEE researchers Aline Wachner (@alinewachner) and Tim Weiss (@TimsWeiss).

Simple but Intelligent Solutions for People with Health Restrictions

Under this headline the "empowering people. Network" presents it's first Webinar in cooperation with Engineering for Change (E4C).

The Webinar will feature Mathilde Iweins, Business Developer of OneDollarGlasses and Tish Scolnik,  CEO and Co- founder of GRIT, who developed the Leveraged Freedom Chair.

The Webinar will give insights about the ideas, functionality and social impact of the solutions as well as their entrepreneurial potential and perspectives.

Our colleague Carola Schwank will give a short introduction of the "empowering people. Network" at the beginning of the session.
