International networks are an essential fundament for knowledge exchange, knowledge sharing and inspiration – but they can only become vibrant through their members, the people that are involved onsite. Our recent workshop held in Jinja, Uganda, showed that local meetings in person along with cooperative team work can initiate hubs that energize a network on the ground in the long term – by strengthening qualification and interconnection opportunities – which finally bring it to life!

The "empowering people. Network" will set up a series of offline activities for entrepreneurs and inventors offering urgently needed solutions to daily basic supply challenges and will not only constitute a database and online platform. We are delighted to see that the number of entrepreneurs and inventors is growing – welcome to the new projects and the aspiring people behind them! Feel free to learn more about them in our Solutions Database. Our aim is to actively involve more and more of our Network members and thereby meet them, learn about their needs and help them facilitate their daily work.

"empowering people. Onsite"

With its pilot project in Jinja, Uganda in September 2014, the Siemens Stiftung aims to start a series of hands-on oriented workshops for members of the “empowering people. Network”.

These workshops are in comparison to from other settings, regionally based and have an emphasis on praxis combined with a hands-on character instead of theoretical discourse.
