Rolf Huber on the next steps of the “empowering people. Award”

The „empowering people. Award” has closed its virtual entry portals on January 31st. The competition is an opportunity to identify low- tech products and solutions around the globe. The implementation of these solutions can enable people to improve their basic infrastructure and supply issues and thereby contribute to improved living conditions across the globe. Many innovators and developers followed the call of the Siemens Stiftung and over 800 submissions from 90 countries were received. Rolf Huber, Managing Director of the Siemens Stiftung, shares his excitement and explains the next steps in the evaluation process of the “empowering people. Award”:

Carola Schwank

Carola Schwank is project manager of the “empowering people. Award” at Siemens Stiftung (foundation). After studying German Philology, History, Political Science and Sociology she held several managing positions in communications and social policy at Siemens AG. From 2000 to 2009, she headed the internal and external communication activities of Siemens in the Erlangen-Nuremberg region. Since October 2009, she has worked as a senior project manager in the action area of Basic Needs and Social Entrepreneurship at the Siemens Stiftung.
