April 26, 2013

Deutsche Welle is the German overseas television and radio station broadcasting global news and information TV programs. As Head of the Economics Department, Manuela Kasper-Claridge is responsible for the entire business coverage and also for the science magazine “PROJEKT ZUKUNFT / TOMORROW TODAY” and the program “Visión Futuro”.

In April 2008, Kasper-Claridge introduced the GLOBAL 3000 globalization program. In cooperation with the United Nations (UN), the TV magazine is aired by over 2,500 partners worldwide. As a member of the jury for the “empowering people. Award”, Claridge contributes a great deal of international experience. She states: “While working for an international broadcaster we meet many people in emerging countries who have brilliant ideas and developments that could improve life. The amount of submissions for the award also shows the potential. It is a great honor for me to be part of the jury and hopefully make these ideas and developments wider known.”

At the end of 2009, Manuela Kasper-Claridge started the multimedia-based climate project GLOBAL IDEAS which presents climate projects with best practice character. The project is supported by the International Climate Initiative of the Federal Environment Ministry (BMU).
