Key Facts

  • The Biogas backpack is patented and TÜV approved as safe for storage and transport of biogas.
  • The user-friendly design is easy to handle for everybody. It inflates by itself when connected to a biogas plant and releases the gas for cooking when weighted down from outside.
  • Can store 1m³ of biogas, which provides energy for 2-4 hours of cooking. The material used is strong and durable and biogas is not explosive under Biogas backpack conditions.
  • The Biogas backpack does not come alone: it is combined with the semi-mobile biogas digester of (B)energy and the modular biogas stove, (B)flame.
  • It costs between €36.50 and €55.00.
(B)energy's biogas systems can be used in small businesses, schools, restaurants, households, or on farms.

Key Features

Biogas has the potential to solve everyday problems of many people. Lots of people are dependent on firewood or coal for cooking and have to dispose of organic waste. (B)energy’s technology solves both. Our biogas systems can be used in small businesses, schools, restaurants, households, or on farms. Customers can sell their excess gas in the mobile Biogas backpack and thus refinance their investment. The waste processed by the system can be used or sold as organic fertilizer.

The Biogas backpack can also be used with every biogas system and stove. We always look for distributors and partners to introduce and sell them on their markets.

Together with our (B)energy partners, we are building a service infrastructure that ensures the availability of (B)energy products in many countries and reliable maintenance of the plants at the customer’s premises. We establish biogas as an alternative cooking energy and enable our partners to implement it in their own entrepreneurial way. As trendsetters they use, sell, and install our products in their region. In this way, they strengthen the local economy, improve people’s daily lives and at the same time work completely independently of development funds from international donors.

Social Impact

Biogas customers skip time-consuming wood collection or the purchase of expensive coal. They protect themselves from health hazards, reduce deforestation, and decrease soil erosion.

For the first time, owners of biogas plants become biogas sellers themselves. This new source of income for end customers, installers, and maintenance staff creates real appreciation and trust in the technology. That’s why the Biogas backpack increases our customers’ interest in maintaining their own installation. To the contrary to development aid projects where products are given away, the valuation of our products is much greater.

Future Plans

The (B)energy partner program is designed for indirect sales structures. All (B)energy partners share our vision of establishing biogas technology in an entrepreneurial way and operating without foreign aid funds.

(B)energy is expanding quickly; more and more local entrepreneurs are joining the movement of aid-free biogas and we are connecting these partners to a growing network of like-minded people with influence in the sector and on aid policies.

Main Target Group

The main target group of (B)energy Germany is partners who strengthen the entrepreneurial way.
