Increasing effectiveness together

The focus of the Siemens Stiftung’s latest annual report highlights projects in various regions around the world. In collaboration with partners around the globe to increase effectiveness together, the Siemens Stiftung utilizes technical innovations to improve the supply of basic needs and social entrepreneurship models. In a bid to further identify such low-tech products and solutions, the foundation launched the “empowering people. Award” in 2012. Carola Schwank is project manager of the “empowering people. Award” at Siemens Stiftung (foundation). After studying German Philology, History, Political Science and Sociology she held several managing positions in communications and social policy at Siemens AG. From 2000 to 2009, she headed the internal and external communication activities of Siemens in the Erlangen-Nuremberg region. Since October 2009, she has worked as a senior project manager in the action area of Basic Needs and Social Entrepreneurship at the Siemens Stiftung.
