It is the dedication of many that makes a project successful!

OneDollarGlasses is the top winner of the “empowering people. Award” initiated by Siemens Stiftung. This project is about providing affordable glasses for everyone - especially the people with less income. However, to truly change the living conditions of the large number of seeing-impaired children and adults, making the technological solution available is not enough. A successful local implementation also depends on the reliable and personally engaged project partners, who have the required technical as well as social skills.
Fortunately, Martin Aufmuth, who is the inventor of OneDollarGlasses and the manager of the charitable organization of the same name, has no shortage of energetic supporters. More than 30 interested and dedicated people coming from all over Germany participated in a recent one-day workshop where they learned everything about the manufacturing process. Conquering theory and practice, they were also taught how to produce the simple glasses themselves. This knowledge is vital, as many of these passionate volunteers will soon function as trainers in the developing regions or support the OneDollarDollar Organization on specific issues such as quality management, fund raising or communications.

Their contribution is indispensable for this great project!
