proH2O removes dangerous contaminations of arsenic from water to get drinking water quality (WHO).
The system uses two 10 inch filters. The first stage is an adsorbent for arsenic removal; the second stage is a carbon block for water filtration. It uses a scaled down technique that is usually used for large water treatment plants.
Installation, maintenance and support of the filter installations are done by local personnel.
If necessary the filter can be extended with additional components like inline membrane filters for bacterial and virus protection.
In 2000/01, when my daughter was born, I realized what a big problem drinking water contamination was. For about five years we tested the design privately until we decided to go and distribute it as a product.
Argentina is one of the countries that is most severely affected by arsenic contamination due to geological reasons. Although the health risks of the consumption of arsenic contaminated water are commonly known, many people still lack awareness. Arsenic is one of the most abundant toxic elements in the earth's crust. In Argentina, over 2.5 million people, consume water with concentrations above the tolerance limit recommended by the WHO.
The market price of the filter is approx. 35 USD, changing the filter cartridges costs about 10 USD. The cartridge should be substituted once a year.
Individual water filter to eliminate arsenic and heavy metals from drinking water.
